NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd.‘s professional foresters are experienced in developing and maintaining Forest Stewardship Plans (FSPs). An FSP is a mandatory document that lists results and strategies a licensee will utilize in order to meet mandated objectives for a wide range of resources, such as wildlife, visual quality and cultural heritage. Our team leads the FSP public review and consultation process, working to ensure new plans, amendment and replacements are approved in a timely manner.

Using a combination of inventory data, orthophotos and field work, our in-house recce team works quickly and efficiently to identify potential new cutblocks. With decades of experience, our team innately understands the values and factors that determine cutblock viability.

NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. utilizes a team of local consultants and our in-house engineering team to layout and engineer new blocks. These teams are very thorough, working to minimize the quantity of new road construction required and ensuring that all important features, such as Culturally Modified Trees (CMTs), are identified the first time, eliminating the need for rework.

Compiling accurate standing inventory data is an important step in forest planning. When combined with our database of historical cut-to-cruise information, new cruise compilations represent a powerful tool that allows us to predict block economics and inform customers of expected new production. NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. utilizes both local consultants and our in-house team to perform timber cruising.

All new blocks must comply with a licensee’s FSP. NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. often performs multiple assessments on a single block to ensure that we are in compliance with mandated objectives. For example, as our operations are located on the traditional territories of many First Nations partners, we regularly perform archaeological assessments to ensure cultural heritage resources are identified.

A planning department is only as good as the number of quality permits they can develop. Our team understands this is a key performance indicator and they work towards developing new permits daily.
