NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. manages all of its business operations in a manner which protects the health and safety of all employees, contractors and the general public. The goal of NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd.’s HSSE policies is not only to comply with all relevant policies, laws and regulations but to exceed them.

We are accountable for safety and environmental compliance on every project with the goal of ensuring that every worker understands that they are responsible for doing their part and contributing to our primary operational objective which is ‘LIFE FIRST’.

NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment with the core objective that our people go home at the end of each work day the way they began it, healthy and unharmed. This commitment is reflected in our Health and Safety Policy. Moreover, we share a mutual responsibility to prevent harm and promote wellbeing.

Through strong HSSE policies, we ensure our crews successfully achieve project milestones safely while working in, and also protecting the forests of British Columbia which represent one of the planet’s greatest renewable resources.

Our company mandate is to identify, assess and manage risks to people and equipment. We do so by ensuring due diligence on our operations and by selecting subcontractors that have been prequalified for the scope of work we are hiring them to perform. Through the pre-qualification process, NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. confirms that the subcontractors have the capacity to do the work and are capable of doing it safely and to the standards set by industry proponents.  We also provide the necessary training and resources to support our HSSE programs.

We actively monitor, investigate and report our health and safety performance. Part of the expected contributions of our field supervisors is to monitor and evaluate worker competency throughout all projects undertaken. During the execution of the work, they ensure all workers comply with health, safety and environmental requirements. In addition, field supervisors ensure field level hazard assessments, and other safety, progress and environmental documentation is properly reported and analyzed so that when the reporting of incidents and near misses are investigated, appropriate actions (where and when necessary), are taken to warrant that safe and productive work can continue.

NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. relies on the mutual assistance, support, cooperation, and interaction among employees and contractors to achieve our HSSE objectives. Communication between field supervisors, crews and other contractors is central to smooth and safe operations and brings efficiencies to all projects. That is why a fundamental component of our contractor management program is the implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) which are developed to monitor HSSE performance.

Our employees are our most valuable resource – and no phase of business is more important than their personal safety. At NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd., we encourage open dialogue. We do this to improve both our systems and performance through the involvement of our employees. Involving all employees and contractors to take personal responsibility for both their own and their fellow employee’s health and safety and environmental requirements, assists the company to improve health and environmental performance by increasing awareness, optimizing operational control, monitoring compliance and driving continuous improvement.

Above and beyond requirements, NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd. is continually searching for improvements that will provide better outcomes for the safety of our workers, the environment and the communities that reside in close proximity to our operations.
